  Floor Sander Specialists

What makes our floor sanding equipment so special?

There is only reason that anyone would hire proper professional floor sanding equipment from us and that is that you are looking for a proper professional finish.

We really do know that our sanders are better than traditional drum sanders and you don't have to take our word for it. You are invited to try sanding a room with a traditional drum style floor sander, then try sanding the same floor with one of our professional floor sanders. If you can show that you achieved a better finish to your floor with a conventional drum sander, then we will gladly let you have your rental from us for free!

Floor Sanding Specialists

Conventional Drum Floor Sanders have several problems with them, which is why no professional floor restoration expert would use one. They result in Severe dust released during operation, as much as 20 to 30 times more than one of our continuous belt floor sanders. As their name suggests, our continuous belt sanders use belts of abrasive material that are much better quality than the abrasive sheets used by drum sanders. These sheets are known to break easily, and need to be replaced often - while our continuous belts last longer between replacements, don't break and give a much better finish.

The belts of our continuous belt sanders are also easier to replace when they do finally need to be swapped out, taking as little as 30 seconds. We've seen drum sanders that took five minutes to switch abrasive sheets, even for an experienced operator. The higher quality sanding medium also means that the sander requires less physical effort to operate. Rather than forcing the drum across your floor, our professional quality floor sanders respond to a light touch - almost gliding across the floor.

The final nail in the drum floor sander's coffin is the lack of a clutch. With the traditional sander you have no control over the force with which the drum hits the floor. This can mar the floor, leaving your refinished floor covered in dents. The mechanism in our professional quality sanders allows you to gently lower the sanding surface, ensuring the floor remains smooth and unmarked.

The conclusion of all this is that it is far better to hire a professional floor sander, even for DIY floor restoration, that to hire the cheapest sander you can find. A cheap, conventional drum floor sander will be very dusty, it will be hard work to use, and it will be a lot of hassle and very time consuming. In short, a drum sander will be an absolute nightmare. And then you have the slightly depressed feeling you will get each time you notice the dents in your lovely wooden floor left by a cheap, hired drum floor sander.
